Upgrade

If at all possible it is best to do a new install instead of an upgrade when you switch from one version to the next to avoid compatibility issues. However the software has been designed to handle upgrades but you may lose data if there are problems and Omnistar Interactive, LLC is not responsible for any data loss or down time during your upgrade.

When you upgrade Omnistar Live from one version to another version it is important to do the following:

1. Backup your current database to another name and keep this backup

2. When you get to the install.php page you will have an option to which version you are upgrading from and you should choose the appropriate option. Also on the same page you will be asked to enter database information. Make sure you enter the database information from the release that you want to upgrade from that you just backed up.

That’s it. If there are any problems you should go to your backup and then re-install the old release by choosing the option to re-install from the install.php screen.
